The Backstitch
The backstitch is an absolute staple when it comes to embroidery. This essential stitch can be used for outlines, embellishment, and tiny details.
Step One
Bring your needle up through the back of the fabric at point A.
Step Two
Now, bring your needle down through point B.
Step Three
Bring your needle up through the back of the fabric one stitch length ahead at point C.
Step Four
Bring your needle back down through point B.
Step Five
Repeat this process to create a straight or curved line.
