Lazy Daisy Stitch

The lazy daisy is also called the detached chain stitch, but I love the term “lazy daisy” because it’s so cute!

Below, you will find detailed directions on how to complete the lazy daisy stitch. At the end of this tutorial, you can also see me stitch the lazy daisy!

Step One

To complete the lazy daisy stitch, bring your needle up through the back of your fabric at point A.

Step Two

Begin to bring the needle back down at the same point A. Don’t pull all the way through. Instead, leave a loop at the top.

Step three

Bring your needle up at point B, and through the inside of the loop you’ve just created.

Step Four

Bring the needle down at point C to secure the loop.

Step Five

Pull your thread tight. You’ve completed your stitch!
